BEING THE COMMUNIQUE OF THE NAPS DISRUPTED AKURE CONVENTION.

Preamble: National Association of Polytechnic Students NAPS, an umbrella body of all Polytechnics, Monotechnics, colleges of Education, colleges of Technology and other Allied Institutions awarding ND/HND certificate across the six geo-political zone of the federation, with all member institutions' Students' union Government president as senator forming the Senate Assembly.

The convergence of all senators in Ondo state for the purpose of electing new leadership of the Association after the annulment of the election held at federal polytechnic Offa kwara state national congress held on the 13th Dec 2014, which suffer setback as result of some manipulation act exhibited by some character.
Sequel to the inability of the convention planing committee CPC constituted by the leadership of the senate and the executive council led by Comr. Fawale Oluwole Jacob as chairman to give a befitting arrangement for transition process, which resulted to :
The rejection of the host by Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, Ondo state that later resulted to student convergence In an Hotel Swan Hotel Akure which is against the norms and tradition of the student movement
Lack of necessary paper works to officially gain the support of the Ondo state Government to cater for accommodation and other logistics required for the smooth process.
The un-ethical delay of the process from Thursday 5th till Sunday 8th March with no any meaningful progress which resulted to the frustration of senators and the entire student congress in attendance.
The act of impersonating the entire Northern state institutions with students of 
Federal University of Technology Akure Ondo state and some tout by the CPC chairman Comr. Fawale Oluwole Jacob which finally disrupted the convention process. 
The aftermath of the above actions.
The senate resolved thus:
1. The senate condemn in totality the lack of capacity and inability of the entire CPC to give credible election as such pass vote of no confidence on the chairman comr. Fawale oluwole Jacob. Owning to this fact the entire committee stands dissolved.
2. The senate specially thanks the management of Swan Hotel Akure for her endurance and tolerance all through our stay and use of their facilities.
3. The senate sincerely appreciate the tireless effort of Nigerian police force, Department of state Service and other security Agencies for their support.
4. The senate resolved to re-convene the NAPS Convention after General election while imploring the entire senator not to get tired because it is not over until is over, freedom cometh by struggle.
5. The leadership of the Senate and the Executive council shall employ some other credible hands to ensure a smooth transition process immediately after the General election.
6. The senate recommend in strong term the capital adherence to the NAPS constitution provision for the transition process to avert further controversy in our dear Association thus: Accreditation should be handle by ASG or Senate Clerk, School I'D card and SUG I'D card should be the only valid document for senator eligibility.
7. By the virtue of NAPS constitution Article 9 code B Section I
B.THE CONVEYING AUTHORITY
i.The NAPS senate shall, at their last meeting fix the date and venue of the next annual convention. No other organ of NAPS shall appropriate to itself the duty of convening the convention other than NAPS senate. As such we announce the next arrangement soonest.
